Rita Medaglio-Barrera, CDFA®, is Founder and President of BMR Global Wealth Management Group, Inc., based in Melbourne, FL, has over 20 years experience as a Financial Planner and 18 years as a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® working with individuals, families and small businesses.
She works with attorneys, mediators, individuals and couples in mediation, collaborative divorce and litigation. She also practices as an independent Divorce and Family Mediator. She has also been an expert witness for a divorcing client in Florida. She holds a Life, Health, and Annuities insurance license in the States of Florida and New York.
Rita was a panel speaker for AARP Long Island and presented on Social Security in 2015, 2016. She gave a presentation at the Suffolk County Bar Association, Elder Law Committee, on Elder Mediation in December 2011. She was a panel speaker at the Suffolk County Bar Association on Collaborative Law. She has written an article entitled "Achieving an Equitable Divorce Settlement Quickly", in February 2010 issue of Long Island Woman Magazine. She has also written an article on the pitfalls encountered when dividing up pensions and the QDRO and was interviewed by Jean Chatzky in March 2011 article in More Magazine entitled "Keep Your Cash Divorce". In June 2008, Rita Medaglio-Barrera was interviewed by The Chicago Tribune, in an article entitled “Court Order Needed to Split Retirement Accounts in Divorce” and interviewed by Divorce360.com in April 2008, in an article entitled, "Real Estate: Housing Reform Package May Not Help Divorcing Couples"
